UV Printing vs Digital Printing: Which is Better for Your Business?

What is UV Printing?

UV printing uses ultraviolet light to cure (dry) specially formulated inks directly on the surface being printed. Unlike conventional printing methods, UV printing can print on virtually any flat surface — acrylic, wood, glass, metal, PVC, leather, and more.

At Arvind Advertizing, we use advanced UV flatbed printers (DOCAN H1000) and UV roll-to-roll printers (Wit-Color) to deliver photographic-quality output at up to 1440 DPI resolution.

Key Advantages of UV Printing

  • 40+ compatible surfaces — print directly on acrylic, wood, glass, metal, MDF, PVC, leather, and more
  • Scratch-resistant output — UV-cured inks bond permanently to the surface
  • White ink & varnish effects — create depth, texture, and dimension
  • No minimum order — cost-effective for both single pieces and bulk orders
  • Indoor & outdoor durability — weather-resistant output that lasts years

What is Digital Printing?

Digital printing transfers designs from a digital file directly to paper or card stock using toner or inkjet technology. It's ideal for short-run, paper-based printing like business cards, brochures, catalogues, and stationery.

Our Konica Minolta PRESS C6100 handles up to 100 pages per minute at 1200×1200 DPI resolution with precise color accuracy.

Key Advantages of Digital Printing

  • Fast turnaround — no setup plates required, print-on-demand
  • Cost-effective for short runs — ideal for 100-5000 quantity orders
  • Variable data printing — personalize each piece with unique content
  • Wide paper stock range — 50+ paper grades from 90 GSM to 400 GSM
  • Finishing options — lamination, UV spot coating, foil stamping, die-cutting

Which Should You Choose?

Choose UV Printing if:

  • You need to print on non-paper surfaces (acrylic, wood, glass, metal)
  • You're creating signage, interior branding, or corporate gifts
  • Durability and scratch-resistance are priorities
  • You want premium effects like white ink or raised varnish

Choose Digital Printing if:

  • Your project is paper-based (business cards, brochures, catalogues)
  • You need fast turnaround for marketing campaigns
  • You're printing variable data (personalized invitations, direct mail)
  • Budget is a primary concern for large paper-based runs
